PROJECT 1
DOCUMENTATION AND ANALYSIS
The aim of this project is to introduce and expose students to various construction elements by visiting construction sites. It also intends to enhance the understanding of principles of construction, sequence of construction activities ,importance of basic detailing ,construction joints and material application through real life projects. It also creates an opportunity to study the relationship between site and construction method.
For this project it is a group(30%)and individual task(10%). The visit to the site is a group component but then the analysis and explanation for each small component such as the door, roof an windows are done individually. As for me my individual component was beam, column and slab. Our analysis is written on a A3 bound report with visuals, sketches, manual drawings ,detailing and documentation included .
I learned and gained a few new experience from this project. Firstly , this project gives me an inside view of the real world. What i learned from lectures regarding construction theoretically can be seen applied practically on site with some minors tweaks of course. It shows a whole different environment and it's good that i am able to apply and enhance this knowledge based on what i seen on site.

PROJECT 2
CONSTRUCTION DETAIL AND SPECIFICATIONS
This project is integrated with Architecture Studio 2 project 2b that involves understanding the construction detail and specification of a simple building that is made out of steel or timber or composite material which should cover the following designs which is the roof , superstructure and joint and connection. This project is designed to allow the application of knowledge of construction detail and specifications into our designs.
I then present my scaled, manually drafted drawings of my developed scheme showing the integration of the construction systems proposed, including site section (as per studio requirement or scale (1:50).Provided at one cross section of my building design in Project 2b in Architecture Studio 2 (scale at 1:20 or appropriate scale)in an A2 sheet.
From this project I learned to develop an understanding of the structural elements in construction and its application in the construction industry and apply suitable construction elements, material and detail/joint solutions
suitable for a specific design.
